According to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force arrested suspect Travis Swinehart on October 21 after a lengthy investigation involving theft and drug trafficking allegations. Officers from Columbiana Police Department, East Palestine PD, Beaver Township PD, and other local agencies assisted in the operation, including K-9 units.

Agents later executed a search warrant at 226 Pittsburgh Street in Columbiana, where they reportedly found approximately 29 grams of methamphetamine, three handguns, and drug-related paraphernalia. During the search, agents also discovered an improvised explosive device, which was safely transferred to the Youngstown Bomb Squad for disposal.

Officials credited strong collaboration among multiple agencies, including Salem PD, East Liverpool PD, Lisbon PD, Wellsville PD, and Ohio Adult Parole, for bringing the investigation to a close.

The Columbiana County Drug Task Force thanked the Youngstown Bomb Squad for its quick response to the scene. The case remains under investigation.
