Columbia, SC – The National Weather Service in Columbia says an extended stretch of dry and sunny weather begins today across central South Carolina, with gradually warming temperatures expected through the end of the week.

According to the latest forecast, areas of patchy fog and low clouds early today will give way to sunshine, with afternoon highs ranging from the mid-60s to near 70°F. Overnight lows will dip into the low 40s, setting up a chilly start to the week.

The coldest night is expected to be Tuesday night, when temperatures could fall into the upper 30s across some parts of the Midlands. Patchy frost will be possible by early Wednesday, especially in rural and low-lying areas.

By midweek, temperatures will rebound, with highs reaching the low to mid-70s by Thursday and Friday under mostly sunny skies. No significant rain is forecast through the week, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities and fall travel.
