Columbia, SC – A stretch of sunny, dry weather will continue across central South Carolina this week, according to the US National Weather Service Columbia. Forecasters say no rain is expected until Sunday, with temperatures staying near or slightly below normal for mid-October.

Today will bring sunny and cooler conditions with highs in the low 70s and overnight lows dipping into the mid-40s. By Tuesday, temperatures will warm slightly, reaching the upper 70s to low 80s before cooling again midweek.

According to the forecast, Wednesday through Friday will feature clear skies, mild afternoons, and crisp mornings, with highs generally in the 70s and lows in the mid-40s.

The weather service notes that this extended dry period offers a welcome break for outdoor plans, yard work, and fall events across the Midlands region, including Columbia, Lexington, and Sumter. Residents can expect excellent visibility for morning commutes and evening walks under clear skies.

Rain chances are expected to return late Sunday, but forecasters say timing and totals remain uncertain.
