Columbia, SC – A stretch of hot, dry weather is taking hold across the Midlands with sunshine expected to dominate through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Columbia.
Forecasters said highs will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s from Thursday through Saturday, with the warmest days likely on Friday and Saturday. Lows at night are expected in the 60s, keeping conditions mild.
According to the National Weather Service, no rain is expected until late Sunday into early Monday, when a front could bring cooler temperatures and increased shower chances. Sunday’s forecast calls for highs near 88° before that system begins to move through.
The dry stretch will be welcome news for weekend outdoor plans, but meteorologists caution that the heat could be uncomfortable at times, especially during afternoon hours. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors during peak sun.
The upcoming front early next week is expected to lower temperatures slightly, with cooler mornings likely returning by Monday.
