Columbia, SC – A stretch of warm, mostly sunny weather is setting up across the Midlands as high pressure strengthens to close out the week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Columbia.
According to NWS forecasters, temperatures will continue to run above normal through Sunday, with highs in the low to upper 70s across Augusta, Columbia, Orangeburg, and Lancaster. Skies remain mostly sunny Thursday and Friday, with overnight lows falling into the upper 30s and low 40s—typical for mid-November.
Friday will feature near-identical conditions with highs between 68 and 72 degrees regionwide. A dry front is expected to approach the area this weekend, bringing breezy winds but no rainfall. Forecasters say this front will help raise temperatures even further on Saturday and Sunday as warmer air spreads across the region.
Saturday’s highs will reach the mid-70s to upper 70s in most locations, followed by an even warmer Sunday, with many cities topping out around 78 to 79 degrees—well above seasonal averages for this time of year. Despite the frontal passage, conditions are expected to stay dry, and skies will range from sunny to partly cloudy.
Winds may become breezy at times this weekend, though no hazardous weather is anticipated. The warm and quiet pattern is expected to hold into early next week, offering ideal conditions for outdoor events, travel, and yardwork.
Forecasters say above-average warmth in the Midlands is not uncommon in mid-November, but this weekend’s highs are running 8 to 12 degrees above climatological norms.
