Columbia County, Wisconsin – A Caledonia man was arrested Saturday after allegedly posting threats targeting law enforcement and a county judge, prompting a high-risk response and search warrant execution.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were notified Saturday, Feb. 28, of a social media video and post described as threatening in nature and directed at the Sheriff’s Office and a Columbia County Circuit Court judge.

Detectives identified the account as belonging to Marc A. Geisser, 40, of the Town of Caledonia. Investigators contacted Geisser to assess whether the threats were credible and later worked with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office to obtain a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of threatening to cause bodily harm to individuals involved with a court or legal system.

Deputies conducted surveillance at Geisser’s residence and observed him leaving in a vehicle around 9:40 a.m. Sunday, March 1. Authorities attempted a traffic stop, but Geisser allegedly continued driving, disregarding emergency lights and sirens. After an initial stop and departure, deputies conducted a second high-risk stop and took him into custody without further incident.

The Sheriff’s Office said Geisser’s driving behavior led to a significant law enforcement response from the Portage area. Following the arrest, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at his residence, recovering firearms, ammunition and other evidence.

Geisser is being held at the Columbia County Jail pending an initial court appearance on charges of allegedly threatening to cause bodily harm, failure to obey an officer, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities emphasized that while the First Amendment protects free speech, true threats directed at individuals are not protected under Wisconsin law. The charges are allegations, and Geisser is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
