Denver, CO – Sunny skies and mild temperatures in Colorado today offer brief relief before an arctic cold front arrives by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, highs across the Urban Corridor will range between 40–50°F today, while the mountains and valleys stay cooler at 15–30°F. Winds will remain light, making conditions pleasant. However, a major shift in weather is expected starting late Friday as snow and freezing temperatures sweep into the region.

Snowfall is forecasted to begin Friday night, bringing 1–3 inches of accumulation in the metro area and heavier totals in higher elevations. The cold air will intensify by Saturday, with daytime highs struggling to reach 20°F in Denver and wind chill values plummeting as low as -30°F in mountain regions. Motorists traveling on I-25 or mountain passes should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility during snow events.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast shows sunny skies for Thursday with highs near 57°F, followed by snow Friday and freezing temperatures through the weekend. The coldest day is expected to be Monday, with lows near -10°F.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and ensure vehicles are winter-ready. Limit outdoor exposure this weekend due to potentially dangerous wind chills. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updated snowfall totals and travel advisories.
