Pueblo, CO – Multiple Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across Colorado’s southern and central mountain ranges from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, with up to a foot of snow and gusty winds expected to impact high-elevation travel.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the advisories include the Eastern San Juan Mountains, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and portions of the Mosquito and Sawatch Ranges, where snow totals are expected to range from 5 to 12 inches, depending on elevation.
- Eastern San Juan Mountains (Wolf Creek & Cumbres Pass): 7–10 inches expected, up to 12 inches on peaks; winds gusting up to 40 mph from 8 p.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Monday.
- Sangre de Cristo Mountains (including Blanca Peak & Spanish Peaks): 5–9 inches with gusts up to 45 mph from 2 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
- Mosquito & Sawatch Ranges (near Climax and Bonanza): 6–10 inches expected between 11 a.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday.
Forecasters warn of very difficult travel, reduced visibility, and snow-packed roads across major passes and ski corridors. Drivers along U.S. 160, CO-17, and U.S. 285 should use caution, carry winter gear, and allow extra time for travel.
