Pueblo, CO – Moderate to heavy snowfall will impact Colorado’s mountain regions through Friday morning, with the heaviest accumulation expected over the eastern San Juans. The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued multiple winter weather alerts as snow and blowing winds create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the NWS, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the eastern San Juans from noon Thursday to noon Friday, where significant snowfall will make travel difficult. Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the Eastern Sawatch Range from 6 p.m. Thursday to noon Friday and the Southern Sangre de Cristos from 9 p.m. Thursday to noon Friday.

Snowfall totals are expected to be highest in the San Juans, with lighter but still impactful accumulations elsewhere. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, particularly in higher elevations and open areas.

Residents and travelers are urged to exercise caution, especially on mountain passes. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and possible delays, while those in affected regions should monitor weather updates.

This storm adds to an already active winter season for Colorado’s high country. Travelers are advised to check road conditions and pack emergency supplies if venturing into impacted areas.
