Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of southern Colorado, with snow expected to create hazardous conditions beginning Monday afternoon. Drivers are urged to use caution as snowfall intensifies into the evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers the Wet Mountain Valley, Wet Mountains, and parts of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, beginning at 11 a.m. Monday and lasting until 5 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasts predict between 3 and 10 inches of snow depending on elevation, with the highest amounts likely in mountainous areas.

Highways, including I-25 near Walsenburg and Trinidad, are expected to become slick and hazardous. Snow accumulation on bridges and overpasses will further complicate travel. Those planning to commute Monday evening or early Tuesday are advised to slow down and allow extra time.

Prepare now to avoid delays and ensure your safety during this winter weather event. For live updates and more detailed forecasts, stay connected with local authorities.
