Grand Junction, CO – Dry air, mild spring temperatures, and breezy afternoons will dominate western Colorado through the weekend, bringing ideal conditions for outdoor activity but also increasing fire danger.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday in Grand Junction will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 82°F. Winds will shift from the east to the southwest by afternoon, gusting up to 15 mph. Overnight lows will dip to around 50°F under partly cloudy skies.

Local residents are advised to remain cautious with open flames or outdoor burning due to elevated fire weather conditions. Though no Red Flag Warning is currently in effect, dry grasses and gusty winds heighten the risk. Motorists along I-70 should also be alert for crosswinds during peak afternoon gusts, especially east of the city.

The spring pattern continues into Friday with partly sunny skies and a high near 74°F. Saturday brings the next shift in the weather: clouds return along with a slight chance of afternoon showers. Rain becomes more likely after sunset with lows near 38°F.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy but dry, with highs around 66°F. Monday and Tuesday bring a mix of clouds and sunshine, with slight chances of rain on Tuesday and highs remaining in the mid to upper 60s.

This stretch of warm, dry days followed by light weekend precipitation reflects a typical early spring pattern in western Colorado. Residents should stay weather-aware and plan ahead, especially for changing weekend conditions.
