GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Warm, sunny weather will dominate western Colorado through midweek, with highs climbing into the low 80s before a late-week shift brings a chance of rain. Clear nights will keep temperatures cool, dipping into the low to mid-40s across the valleys.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, the region remains under a Hazardous Weather Outlook mainly for fire-weather concerns due to continued dry air and gusty afternoon winds. The agency expects sub-freezing temperatures in higher elevations of northwest Colorado overnight before a warming trend spreads south through Thursday.

Drivers along I-70 and through the Gunnison and Uncompahgre River Valleys can expect excellent travel conditions through midweek, though blowing dust and low humidity could briefly impact visibility in rural areas.

Moisture is forecast to increase late in the week, with Friday and Saturday bringing the first chance of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Outdoor plans should be fine until then, but residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and remain weather-aware heading into the weekend.
