Grand Junction, CO – Temperatures in western Colorado are set to take a dramatic turn after an unseasonably warm weekend. A winter storm is expected to bring light snowfall Monday, with temperatures plummeting by Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Junction, high temperatures Saturday will reach 51°F under sunny skies. Sunday remains mild with a high near 48°F, but conditions shift early Monday as a cold front moves through the region. Light snow is expected in northern and central Colorado mountains Monday morning, with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Precipitation in Grand Junction is unlikely, but temperatures will drop sharply, with Monday’s high only reaching 41°F.

By Tuesday, frigid air will dominate the region. Overnight lows in Grand Junction are forecast to dip to 18°F Monday night, with Tuesday’s high barely reaching 39°F. Residents are advised to prepare for significant cooling and icy conditions, particularly along mountain roadways such as I-70, where snowfall could impact travel.

Looking ahead, the rest of the week will remain dry and cold, with highs hovering near the low 40s and lows in the teens. Clear skies are expected to persist, but wind chills may make conditions feel even colder.

Drivers should ensure vehicles are winter-ready, and outdoor activities may require extra layers to stay warm. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updates on weather impacts.
