Grand Junction, CO – Residents across western Colorado should stay alert this Saturday as a few isolated severe thunderstorms are possible between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to the US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado.

Forecasters say storms will develop this afternoon across eastern Utah and far western Colorado, with some possibly becoming severe. The primary threats include strong gusty winds and localized flash flooding, particularly in areas with saturated soils, burn scars, or steep terrain.

The Weather Service has issued a Level 1 (Marginal) severe risk for the region, meaning isolated storms could briefly produce damaging winds or heavy downpours. Drivers and outdoor enthusiasts should remain weather-aware, especially near Grand Junction, Moab, Durango, and Montrose.

Officials urge residents to monitor weather alerts, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and avoid flood-prone areas during heavy rain.

Conditions are expected to improve later tonight, with calmer and drier weather forecast for Sunday.
