Denver, CO – Colorado residents can expect cooler temperatures today accompanied by scattered thunderstorms and potential heavy rainfall. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Denver/Boulder has issued a forecast highlighting the possibility of severe storms, particularly across the plains.
According to the NWS, today’s weather will be mostly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 83 to 88 degrees in the plains and 65 to 75 degrees in the high country. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are anticipated, with the potential for locally heavy rainfall east of the Continental Divide. There is also a risk of a couple of strong to severe storms across the plains.
The hourly forecast for Denver shows temperatures starting at 62 degrees in the early morning and rising to a high of 88 degrees by mid-afternoon. Clouds are expected to increase as the day progresses, with the highest likelihood of thunderstorms occurring around 3 PM.
Looking ahead, the weather will warm up slightly with highs reaching 90 degrees on Thursday and 91 degrees on Friday. The weekend will see a slight drop in temperatures, with highs of 83 degrees on Saturday and 80 degrees on Sunday. Next week will feature mostly sunny skies with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s to mid-80s.
