Colorado starts the morning with a chill and quiet skies, but change is already lining up along the Front Range. Colorado Springs sits at 38 degrees under partly cloudy skies, and the air feels brisk along I-25.

Sunshine builds through late morning. Highs climb quickly to near 70 degrees this afternoon. Light winds turn southwest at 10 to 15 mph. It’s a classic March spring tease across El Paso County.

If you’re commuting or heading out midday, expect mild and dry roads. Snowmelt continues in shaded areas. Watch for slick patches early where melting refroze before sunrise.

Tonight turns mostly cloudy, then gradually clears. Lows settle near 37 degrees.

Tuesday brings a shift. Showers develop after 2 p.m., and a thunderstorm is possible. Highs reach around 60 degrees. Rain amounts stay light for most, though isolated heavier bursts may occur. Tuesday night keeps a 50 percent chance of showers before 11 p.m., with lows near 29.

Wednesday dries out with sunshine and a high near 62 degrees. Wednesday night drops to 33 under mostly clear skies.

Thursday stays mostly sunny and warmer, near 65 degrees. By Thursday night, a 40 percent chance of rain and snow showers returns. Friday increases the chance of snow showers, especially before 11 a.m., with highs near 47. Any accumulation looks light, but brief slick travel is possible if bands develop.

Fire weather is also a concern along and east of I-25 at times this week as gusty winds and low humidity redevelop.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, giving us brighter evenings next week. The 6–10 day outlook hints at near to slightly above normal temperatures.
