DENVER, Colo. – Warm, golden sunshine will dominate the Denver metro area this weekend, offering ideal conditions for outdoor fall events before cooler air sweeps in by early next week. Families planning pumpkin patch visits or scenic drives along I-25 will find near-perfect weather through Columbus Day, though chilly nights signal that a sharper fall chill is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will climb into the upper 70s Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies. Light winds and low humidity will make for excellent conditions at local parks and trails. Sunday looks especially pleasant for outdoor sports and leaf viewing across Jefferson, Adams, and Arapahoe counties.

By late Monday into Tuesday, a cold front will slide south across the Front Range, dropping daytime highs back into the 60s. Early morning lows could dip into the low 40s by midweek, with patchy frost possible in northern suburbs and along the foothills. Drivers should watch for reduced visibility in early morning fog near I-70 and U.S. 36 corridors.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the warm spell while preparing for the coming chill—check furnace systems, bring in tender plants, and ready outdoor gear for cooler evenings.

A more noticeable cold snap is likely by the end of next week as October’s late-month chill settles over the Rockies.
