Colorado’s Front Range is waking up to biting cold and the threat of fresh snow as showers build over the higher terrain and drift toward the I-25 corridor.

Light snow is expected to increase in coverage and intensity through the day, especially west of Pueblo and Colorado Springs. Roads that look merely wet early can turn slushy by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, scattered snow showers will develop through the day, with 2 to 4 inches possible in the higher terrain and up to 2 inches in the mountains. Along the southeast plains and into the I-25 corridor, a quick inch of snow cannot be ruled out as showers move east.

Brief bursts could reduce visibility fast.

At Colorado Springs Airport, temperatures hover near 13 degrees this morning. Highs climb only to about 35 degrees in Colorado Springs and near the mid-30s in Pueblo.

Bridges and overpasses will freeze first.

If you’re traveling along I-25 between Pueblo and Colorado Springs, plan extra time and watch for changing road conditions by midafternoon.

Snow showers taper this evening, and skies gradually clear tonight. Lows drop back near 13 degrees, raising the risk of flash freezing where daytime melting occurs.

The weekend brings relief. Saturday turns sunny with highs near 44 degrees in Colorado Springs and upper 40s in Pueblo. Sunday warms further, reaching near 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Early next week feels more like spring. Monday climbs into the lower 60s in Pueblo and upper 50s to near 60 in Colorado Springs. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures and increasing westerly winds, hinting at drier and potentially elevated fire weather conditions by midweek.

Five-Day Outlook:

  • Today: Snow showers likely, high near 35°.
  • Saturday: Sunny, high near 44°.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 50°.
  • Monday: Partly sunny, high near 61°.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, high near 59°.
