Colorado Weather is starting icy and quiet across Denver this morning, with temperatures near 22 degrees and wind chills in the teens. Light snow from earlier bands has left damp pavement in spots, especially on bridges and elevated ramps along I-70 and C-470. Drivers are seeing patchy slick areas before sunrise.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, areas of light snow and slippery roads will linger early, mainly in the foothills and eastern plains. Additional snowfall today remains light, generally under 2 inches in the metro area. Gusts up to 40 mph are possible in the foothills, with occasional gusts near 50 mph in exposed terrain.

Skies turn mostly sunny later with a high near 41, though breezy west-northwest winds keep it feeling colder. Tonight drops sharply to 16 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Another disturbance arrives Friday. Snow becomes likely after late morning with a 70 percent chance of precipitation. New accumulation in Denver should stay under a half inch, but mountain areas could pick up 2 to 5 inches, especially toward Rabbit Ears Pass. Travel over I-70 west of Golden may turn slushy at times.

Friday night brings a 40 percent chance of lingering snow before clearing. Saturday rebounds to 49 degrees with sunshine, and Sunday nudges 50 under mostly sunny skies.

By Monday, highs climb into the mid-60s, with upper 60s possible Tuesday. That warming trend signals early spring vibes across northeast Colorado.
