Colorado – Thin clouds slide over the Front Range this morning as cold air pools along the plains. Tires hum on dry pavement now, but conditions will change quickly in the mountains and north of the metro.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, light snow moves into the high country later today, with accumulations of 1 to 4 inches mainly north of the I-70 corridor. Slick travel is expected in mountain passes, especially this evening and early Friday, while the Denver metro stays mostly dry.

Across Denver, Boulder, and Aurora, sunshine breaks through at times today as temperatures climb into the mid-40s. Gusty northwest winds develop by afternoon, making it feel colder during commutes and outdoor work. Secure loose items and plan for crosswinds on east–west roads.

Friday brings a quieter pattern for the plains. Highs reach near 49 under mostly sunny skies. By Friday night, a weak system may brush the metro with a slight chance of snow. Any flakes should be brief, but melting during the day could refreeze after sunset. Watch bridges and shaded roads.

Saturday turns noticeably warmer. Highs surge into the mid-50s with sunshine returning. Outdoor plans get a green light, though snow showers may linger in the mountains. By Sunday, warmth peaks near 60 in Denver, a sharp swing from winter just days earlier.

Drivers heading west should still plan carefully. Conditions in the high country remain variable through early Saturday, with changing visibility and slick stretches possible.

Looking ahead, mild weather holds into early next week before another unsettled pattern develops. Stay alert for updates if traveling into the mountains.
