Colorado Springs, CO – Thursday could bring another round of damaging summer weather to Colorado Springs and southeast Colorado, with thunderstorms expected after 3 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, isolated to scattered storms will develop over the mountains Thursday morning and shift into the adjacent plains by afternoon. The main hazards: lightning, brief heavy rainfall, and strong outflow winds reaching 60 mph. Some storms may also produce small hail, especially near Pueblo, La Junta, and along Highway 50.

Winds may create localized travel hazards, particularly near exposed roadways like US 24 and I-25 during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, stay weather-aware, and delay high-profile vehicle travel during peak gust periods.

Friday and Saturday will be drier but not storm-free. A few isolated showers may linger in the mountains and the Pikes Peak region, with storm chances returning by Sunday afternoon. A stronger uptick in activity is possible into early next week as monsoon moisture deepens.
