DENVER, Colo. – After a cool, cloudy start to the week, the Mile High City is set to warm up under several days of classic fall sunshine. Denver’s calm and dry stretch will last through midweek before another mountain storm system brings snow to higher elevations and light rain chances east of the foothills by Thursday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, scattered mountain snow showers will taper off early Tuesday as warmer and drier air expands across the Front Range. Highs in Denver will climb from the mid-70s Tuesday to near 80°F Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. Winds will pick up slightly midweek, with gusts up to 25 mph possible during the afternoon hours.

By Thursday, an approaching cold front could trigger isolated rain showers or a brief thunderstorm along I-25 and I-70, while the mountains see accumulating snow above 9,000 feet. Travel through passes like Berthoud and Vail may become slick late Thursday into Friday morning.

Friday brings clearing skies and cooler air, with highs in the mid-60s and a refreshing breeze — perfect for outdoor plans or leaf-peeping before the next system arrives over the weekend.
