Pueblo, CO – Residents across southern Colorado can expect a split forecast on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with warm conditions in the plains and increased storm chances in the higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the plains will see partly cloudy skies with highs between 75 and 86 degrees. Overnight lows are expected in the upper 40s to mid-50s, with only a 10 percent chance of rain.

In contrast, the mountain valleys are forecast to reach highs of 68 to 70 degrees with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s. Meteorologists warn of scattered showers and thunderstorms developing by mid-afternoon, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation.

The mountains themselves face the greatest likelihood of unsettled weather. Highs will range from 47 to 66 degrees, with lows dipping into the low 30s. The National Weather Service notes a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours.

While the plains are expected to remain mostly dry, forecasters caution that an isolated storm cannot be ruled out. Travelers heading into the mountains should be prepared for sudden weather changes, especially during outdoor activities.
