Denver, Colorado – The start of the week in Colorado will feel more like summer, with temperatures well above normal, dry conditions, and highs nearing 90°F across parts of the eastern plains. These unseasonably warm temperatures are expected to last through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Denver.
However, as the week progresses, conditions will begin to shift. While temperatures will remain above average, they will cool slightly in the latter half of the week. The main chance of rain or thunderstorms will occur in the mountains from Wednesday through Friday, with just a few showers or storms possible on the plains Wednesday.
In addition to the potential for mountain showers, eastern Colorado will experience windy conditions, which could create rough driving conditions. While most of the plains will remain dry, residents should still prepare for the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service warns that while the latter half of the week will be cooler, temperatures will still hover at or above seasonal norms, so residents should remain prepared for fluctuating weather patterns.
