Denver, CO – Colorado residents will face bitter cold and snow this week as an arctic air mass grips the state, bringing dangerous wind chills and travel disruptions. Temperatures in Denver are expected to plunge to 2°F Tuesday night, with wind chills dropping as low as -6°F.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow will continue through Tuesday night with accumulation of less than two inches, particularly affecting higher elevations and eastern plains. Travelers on I-70 and I-25 should expect icy conditions and reduced visibility, especially overnight and early Wednesday morning.
Wednesday will remain cold but mostly sunny, with a high near 26°F. By Thursday, another round of snow is likely, with temperatures hovering around 32°F. Northern counties, including Boulder, Larimer, and Weld, will see the coldest conditions, with wind chills as low as -30°F.
Residents should dress in layers, limit outdoor exposure, and prepare for slick roads. Warmer temperatures are expected by the weekend, with highs near 56°F by Saturday as the arctic front moves out.
