Denver, CO – Strong winds and potential snow showers are set to impact Colorado this week, bringing hazardous conditions to parts of the state. Residents in foothills and mountain areas should prepare for gusts reaching 65 mph, particularly above the tree line and wind-prone zones.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), strong winds will continue through Saturday, with gusts up to 60 mph possible at higher elevations. Snow showers are expected to develop by Tuesday night, particularly in the mountains, and may persist into the weekend. While significant accumulations are not anticipated, reduced visibility and slick roads could make travel hazardous.

For those commuting along I-70 and US-285, be aware of sudden gusts and blowing snow, which may cause difficult driving conditions. The NWS advises securing outdoor objects and exercising caution when traveling in affected areas.

Looking ahead, temperatures will fluctuate, with highs in the mid-60s by midweek before dipping into the 50s by the weekend. While Denver and lower elevations will remain mostly dry, mountain travelers should check road conditions frequently.
