Denver, CO – Colorado’s fall weather is turning brisk again as wind gusts and mountain snow showers return midweek, signaling an early taste of winter. Travelers heading into the Rockies by Wednesday should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads at higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, a Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in effect for mountain zones above 9,000 feet, including Jackson, Grand, and Summit Counties. Strong winds up to 60 mph and scattered snow showers could create challenging driving conditions through Wednesday afternoon. Those traveling along I-70 through Summit and Eagle Counties should use extra caution and check road updates before heading out.

Monday’s Columbus Day forecast brings partly sunny skies with highs near 84°F across Denver, cooling to the mid-40s by evening. Tuesday will be mostly sunny and mild, reaching 74°F before temperatures dip again. By Wednesday, expect cooler highs near 60°F with breezy conditions as a cold front moves through.

The extended outlook shows another chance for mountain snow showers Thursday and Friday, followed by a chilly weekend with highs in the upper 60s and lows near freezing.

Residents planning pumpkin patch visits or leaf-peeping trips this week should bundle up for brisk mornings and gusty afternoons — a true Colorado fall pattern setting in just ahead of Halloween season.
