Pueblo, CO – Sunshine will give way to snow showers this weekend as Pueblo braces for a shift in weather conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts snowfall beginning late Friday, potentially affecting travel plans and weekend activities.

According to the NWS, Friday will begin sunny, with highs near 51°F. Snow showers could start as early as Friday night, bringing an 80% chance of precipitation. New snow accumulation of up to an inch is expected by Saturday morning, with some areas receiving up to three inches by the end of the day.

Residents should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially along major routes such as Interstate 25. Temperatures will drop significantly, with Friday night seeing a low near 24°F and winds from the northeast at 10 mph. Saturday will remain cold, with a high near 17°F.

Light snow showers may linger into Sunday, with a 20% chance of precipitation after 11 a.m. Sunday’s high will reach 17°F, but icy roads are likely to persist through the weekend. Nighttime temperatures will plummet to as low as -1°F Sunday night, with a 50% chance of snow showers continuing into Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Drivers should carry emergency supplies, such as blankets and water, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak snow periods.
