Pueblo, CO – Residents across southern Colorado should prepare for snow showers beginning Friday evening and continuing into Saturday night, potentially impacting travel along the I-25 corridor. Drivers are urged to use caution as light snow may create slick roads, particularly during the early hours of Saturday and into Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a weather disturbance is moving into the area, bringing a 40% chance of snow showers late Friday night. This increases to 50% on Saturday, with light accumulations expected, especially in the higher elevations. Total snowfall in the region will likely remain under one inch, but even small amounts can make driving conditions hazardous.
Friday is forecasted to be mostly sunny during the day, with highs reaching 48°F. Conditions will shift overnight as temperatures drop to around 12°F. Saturday will remain cloudy, with highs near 28°F and light east-southeast winds becoming calm in the evening.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring clearing skies and calm weather, with highs near 31°F. By Monday, sunny conditions and warming temperatures up to 44°F will provide a brief reprieve before colder air returns midweek.
Residents planning weekend travel should monitor weather updates and road conditions closely. Avoid unnecessary trips during periods of snowfall, especially in the early morning hours when roads may be slick.
