Grand Junction, CO — Snow is expected in the higher elevations of Colorado today, with gusty winds reaching 30 mph in northern valleys. Meanwhile, Grand Junction and surrounding lower elevations will see drier conditions with mild temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, 2 to 4 inches of snow will accumulate in the northern and central mountains, as well as the Flat Tops region. Travelers in these areas should expect reduced visibility and slick roadways. Winds will make driving hazardous, particularly along high mountain passes.

By Wednesday, the weather shifts to sunny and dry, with highs reaching the mid-50s in Grand Junction. Lows will dip into the mid-20s overnight. Thursday and Friday will bring even warmer temperatures, peaking in the low 60s.

Saturday continues the warming trend, with highs reaching the upper 60s. By Sunday evening into Monday, a chance of precipitation returns.

Residents should prepare for today’s winter weather in the mountains but can look forward to a calm, sunny stretch through the weekend. Travelers heading to higher elevations should check road conditions before departing.
