Elevated weather conditions will continue into Tuesday. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected, mainly after 3 p.m. While high temperatures will reach 94 degrees, some of these storms could become severe, bringing large hail and damaging winds. This threat is most pronounced across the southeast plains near the Kansas border. Residents should secure loose outdoor objects and be prepared for sudden changes in conditions.

Looking ahead to the week, warmer and drier weather will build back in. Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 93. The sunny and hot trend continues for Juneteenth on Thursday, with a high near 92. These conditions will increase fire weather concerns across the plains due to heat and dryness.
