Denver, CO – Colorado residents can expect a mix of severe weather and rising temperatures today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are set to develop this afternoon, with the highest chances occurring over higher elevations.
According to the US National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, a few strong to severe storms are possible on the plains, bringing gusty winds and potential hail. Temperatures will near just above normal levels, with Denver reaching a high of 92 degrees.
The weather service warns that stronger storms may produce locally heavy rain and small hail. There is also a limited threat of flash flooding over burn areas.
Looking ahead, Denver’s temperatures are forecasted to climb throughout the week. Sunday will see a high of 96 degrees, while Monday and Tuesday will peak at 97 degrees. The heatwave continues through Thursday, with highs remaining in the mid-90s before slightly cooling to 90 degrees on Saturday.
