Pueblo, CO – A warm stretch is on the way for southern Colorado, with temperatures expected to climb sharply from the weekend into midweek. Cities like Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar will see highs pushing into the low 80s by Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, temperatures on Sunday will hover in the upper 50s to low 60s across the region. By Tuesday, areas along the I-25 corridor and eastern plains are forecast to reach the mid-70s, with the warmest day expected Wednesday. Pueblo is projected to hit 80°F, while La Junta and Lamar could reach 82°F.

No precipitation is forecast during this stretch, offering favorable conditions for outdoor activities, travel, and agricultural work. Cooler air is expected to return by Thursday, with temperatures dropping back into the upper 60s and 70s, though still above early April averages.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, check on vulnerable neighbors, and ensure pets have adequate shade and water as temperatures spike. This warming trend marks a notable shift from recent chilly mornings, including lows in the 30s recorded earlier in the week in Alamosa and Leadville.
