Grand Junction, CO – Colorado residents should brace for a stretch of near-record warmth this weekend, with high temperatures hitting the mid-80s across the western part of the state.
The National Weather Service has forecasted temperatures to soar Friday and Saturday, with Grand Junction expected to reach 84°F both days, just shy of historical highs. Steamboat Springs will also warm up, reaching 70°F by Friday, with a sharp dip to 54°F on Sunday as a cool front moves through.
According to the National Weather Service, light showers are possible Sunday and Monday, particularly in northern and central Colorado mountains. These rain showers, while not significant, may impact travel in high-altitude areas.
The warmth will continue to affect cities like Durango, which will see highs near 75°F Thursday and Friday. Moab, Utah, will experience highs around 81°F, though temperatures will drop slightly on Sunday.
Residents are advised to remain cautious of the sudden temperature shift, especially those planning outdoor activities in the mountains.
