Denver, CO – Dry, breezy conditions are raising fire concerns in parts of Colorado on Thursday, with high fire danger expected in South Park and southern Lincoln County. Meanwhile, the mountains will see light snow showers developing this evening.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Denver/Boulder, temperatures will be milder, with highs ranging from the 40s in the mountains to the mid-50s across the plains. Winds will be breezy, especially in areas east of the Front Range, increasing fire risk in dry locations.
Residents in high-risk fire zones should avoid outdoor burning and take precautions to prevent accidental sparks. The NWS advises staying alert for any potential fire warnings throughout the day.
In higher elevations, increasing cloud cover will bring light snow showers by evening, particularly in western and central mountain regions. While snowfall is not expected to be significant, travelers should be prepared for changing conditions.
