Denver, CO – A cold front moving through Colorado Saturday morning will bring gusty north winds, cooler temperatures, and elevated fire weather conditions across parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder.

Forecasters expect wind gusts up to 35 mph along the Urban Corridor and up to 45 mph across the eastern plains, including Fort Morgan, Akron, and Burlington. Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s and low 60s during the day, with chilly conditions expected Saturday night.

The NWS warns of near-critical fire weather near the foothills due to dry air and gusty winds. Scattered light rain and snow showers are also possible in the northern mountains, with up to one inch of snow accumulation expected in higher elevations.

A Freeze Watch and Frost Advisory are in effect for Saturday night as skies clear and temperatures drop further. Residents should secure outdoor items, avoid open burning, and prepare for colder overnight lows heading into Sunday morning.
