DENVER, Colo. – Colorado’s front range will bounce between fall chill and breezy warmth this weekend, with frost possible in outlying areas and gusty winds across the foothills. Saturday’s highs stay cool near 65°F before warmer, calmer air returns Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, gusts up to 30 mph are possible Saturday afternoon along the I-25 corridor from Fort Collins through Denver to Castle Rock. Early risers in Weld, Lincoln, and Adams counties may see patchy frost as temperatures dip to near freezing. Residents are urged to protect late-season plants and outdoor plumbing ahead of Saturday morning’s chill.

Sunday brings a shift to sunnier and warmer conditions, with highs nearing 77°F across the Denver metro. It’s an ideal day for hiking, fall markets, and pumpkin patch visits before winds return Monday as another system moves into the Rockies.

High country travelers on I-70 should prepare for brisk mountain gusts and cooler air through the weekend. By Monday, a developing low-pressure system could bring renewed mountain snow and critical fire weather concerns to the southern plains.

Looking ahead, next week begins warm and breezy for most of the Front Range before cooler air and scattered showers return by midweek—signaling that late October’s first real cold snap may not be far behind.
