Pueblo, CO – Residents across the San Luis Valley will wake to frosty conditions Monday morning as a cold snap drops overnight lows into the mid-30s, prompting a frost advisory through 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, temperatures between 33 and 36 degrees, combined with clear skies and light winds, will create ideal conditions for frost development across Alamosa, Monte Vista, and surrounding areas. Sensitive outdoor vegetation left uncovered could be damaged.

The advisory affects much of the San Luis Valley, with nearby areas of south-central and southeast Colorado also expected to see chilly overnight lows, though most locations will remain near seasonal averages. Drivers in rural areas may also notice reduced visibility in the early morning hours as patchy frost settles in low-lying spots.

Residents are urged to protect plants by covering them or bringing them indoors overnight. Farmers and gardeners in the valley, particularly those with late-season crops, should take precautions to prevent losses.

The frost advisory will expire after 9 a.m. Monday, but forecasters note that cool mornings are expected to continue into the middle of the week.
