Pueblo, CO – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo has issued a Flood Watch for areas along and west of the Continental Divide beginning 6 a.m. Monday through noon Tuesday, as another surge of moisture is expected to bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall to southwest Colorado.

According to the US National Weather Service Pueblo, the heaviest rain will target the eastern San Juan Mountains and Upper Rio Grande Valley, where saturated soils from recent storms have already heightened flood concerns. The greatest flash flood risk is near Wolf Creek and Cumbres Passes.

Forecasters warn that creeks and rivers may overflow their banks, potentially washing out roads. Debris, rocks, and mudslides are also possible across mountain routes and nearby communities. Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roadways and monitor local alerts.

The system is expected to continue through Tuesday morning, adding to rainfall totals from the previous weekend. Travelers and residents are advised to stay alert for potential flood warnings and changing weather conditions.
