Denver, CO – Colorado residents should prepare for an active weather pattern this week, beginning with critical fire weather conditions on Monday, followed by snow and wind by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, widespread fire weather conditions will impact the Front Range, I-25 corridor, Palmer Divide, and surrounding areas on Monday. Dry and gusty winds will create an elevated wildfire risk lasting into early Tuesday.

By Tuesday evening, a strong system will bring rain and snow to the region, with hazardous travel conditions expected. Snow will begin developing in the mountains Tuesday morning and continue into Wednesday, affecting higher elevations. Some areas, especially the Palmer Divide and east-central Colorado, could see a few inches of snowfall combined with strong winds.

Lingering light snow showers and gusty winds will persist into Wednesday before conditions dry out slightly on Thursday. However, another round of moisture is expected to bring additional snow showers to the mountains Thursday night into Friday.

Residents should stay updated on changing conditions and exercise caution, particularly in fire-prone areas on Monday. Travelers in the mountains should prepare for winter driving conditions by Tuesday evening. More details on the evolving forecast will be provided as the system approaches.
