However, the next storm system arrives late Friday, bringing cooler temperatures, breezy winds, and widespread showers. Those planning outdoor events, travel, or Halloween decorating should be ready for wet weather.

Thursday remains sunny, with highs near 85 degrees in Grand Junction and across Mesa County. Winds will increase Friday as clouds build, with a 50 percent chance of showers Friday night. Saturday looks unsettled, with showers and possible thunderstorms likely through the afternoon. Highs will only reach the low 70s before clearing returns by Sunday.
