Colorado Springs, CO – Dawn breaks clear but cold along the Front Range, with temperatures hovering near 38°F under partly cloudy skies. You can see the faint shimmer of new snow atop the high peaks west of town, a quiet reminder that winter weather is inching closer to Colorado.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo reports a Hazardous Weather Outlook for central and southern Colorado as scattered snow showers continue over the high country today. Some mountain zones, especially above 10,000 feet, could pick up up to 3 inches of snow before skies clear Friday afternoon. The plains, including Colorado Springs, stay dry but brisk with highs near 60°F and northwest winds around 10 mph.

Saturday brings bright sunshine and slightly warmer air, with highs near 68°F and calm winds early. By Sunday, expect increasing breezes from the southwest — gusts could reach 20 to 25 mph, adding a chilly feel across open roads and higher ridges.

Looking ahead, temperatures begin to dip again by Monday, with morning lows in the 30s hinting at possible frost formation in sheltered valleys. No major storms are expected yet, but model guidance suggests a stronger cold front could arrive late next week — a potential first call for snow along the Palmer Divide as Halloween nears.

For now, it’s a weekend of crisp air, golden light, and early-winter hints — classic late-October weather in southern Colorado.
