Denver, Colorado – Drivers across Colorado are waking up to dense fog and reduced visibility under a quarter mile, with hazardous travel possible on highways like I-25, I-76, and US-85 early Saturday. Rapidly warming temperatures and gusty southerly winds are expected to bring new challenges by late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, the fog will persist through much of the morning, especially on the plains near Fort Morgan, Greeley, and Sterling. By midday, winds could gust up to 45 mph, especially east of Denver and along major routes. Scattered afternoon showers may also pop up in the mountains.

Morning commutes may be slowed, with the thickest fog reported near Longmont and Brighton. Drivers are urged to use low beams, reduce speed, and allow extra stopping distance. High-profile vehicles should take precautions due to strong winds developing after 10 a.m., particularly from Limon to Julesburg.

Milder conditions will dominate mountain areas, with a chance of isolated showers later in the day. Residents across the plains should secure outdoor items and postpone unnecessary travel until fog lifts and winds subside.

Conditions are expected to improve by late afternoon, but updates may follow if advisories are extended. Stay tuned to local weather alerts for the latest information.
