Pueblo, Colorado – Triple-digit heat and scattered storms will give way to a cooler, wetter pattern across Colorado starting Sunday as a cold front moves in from the west.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected Friday and Saturday, especially across the southern plains. A cold front arriving Sunday will drop high temperatures by up to 10°F across cities like Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar, while increasing chances for rain and storms into early next week.
Hot and dry conditions will persist through Saturday with highs reaching 97°F in Lamar, Eads, and La Junta. Afternoon storms may bring gusty winds, lightning, and small hail—particularly over higher terrain and southeastern Colorado. Storm chances increase significantly Sunday as the front pushes in, aligning with early stages of the North American Monsoon.
By Monday, highs in most areas fall to the low-to-mid 80s, with increased humidity and cloud cover. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware and avoid afternoon travel during storm activity. Charge devices and prepare for possible brief power disruptions or flash flooding in vulnerable areas.
Temperatures are expected to remain below normal with above-average rainfall potential through much of next week.
