Pueblo, CO – Breezy conditions will dominate the weather across Colorado this week, with temperatures warming through Wednesday. However, a new weather system is expected to bring snow and high winds to the Continental Divide by Friday, posing challenges for travelers and outdoor plans. Gusts exceeding 50 mph could develop in areas along the I-25 corridor and near the mountains.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, Wednesday will see sunny skies with a high near 50°F. Winds will shift southwest during the afternoon, increasing to 10–15 mph. These mild conditions will give way to cooler, windier weather as the system moves in Thursday night, bringing strong northwest winds and mountain snow by Friday.
The NWS forecasts a high of 52°F Thursday with clear skies before winds ramp up Friday afternoon. Travelers heading to the mountains should prepare for hazardous conditions. Snow accumulations may hinder visibility, especially in elevated areas near the Sangre de Cristo range and central Colorado.
The five-day outlook shows continued sunshine for Saturday, with highs around 52°F and calmer winds. By Sunday, temperatures will climb to near 57°F, signaling a return to stable weather. Residents are urged to stay updated on road conditions, especially along I-25 and mountain passes.
For those planning outdoor activities, the NWS advises checking forecasts and preparing for rapidly changing weather, particularly late Thursday through Saturday morning.
