Colorado Springs, CO – Daily rounds of thunderstorms could rattle much of central and southern Colorado through Tuesday, with wind gusts up to 50 mph, small hail, and periods of heavy rain expected to disrupt travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, storms will fire early each afternoon along the mountains and move across valleys by evening. Thursday and Friday bring the best chances for widespread downpours, especially in higher elevations such as the Sangre de Cristo and San Juan Mountains. Lightning and outflow winds will be the main hazards.

In Colorado Springs and Monument Ridge, isolated storms are likely from Thursday afternoon through Independence Day. West winds will shift north by Friday, keeping the risk of late-day storms alive. Pueblo, Alamosa, and Trinidad may also see spotty activity, with locally heavy rainfall and brief power outages possible.

Drivers should avoid flood-prone roads and watch for sudden wind shifts on highways like I-25. Campers and hikers are urged to stay below tree line and seek shelter at the first sign of thunder.

Showers remain in the forecast through early next week, with additional watches possible if storm coverage increases.
