Denver, Colo. – Wind gusts up to 30 mph are sweeping across eastern Colorado this evening, with temperatures dropping toward freezing overnight and creating spot travel concerns by early Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, breezy conditions will persist across the plains through late evening, especially along the I-25 corridor from Denver to Fort Collins and south toward Colorado Springs. Overnight lows are expected to fall between 30°F and 34°F, with colder pockets west of Denver dipping into the upper 20s.

A low chance, under 25%, of isolated rain or snow showers could develop across the northeast plains late tonight into early Tuesday, briefly reducing visibility in areas near Greeley, Sterling, and Fort Morgan. Most locations, however, will remain dry.

Mountain communities including Breckenridge and Estes Park will see colder overnight conditions, with lows falling into the 20s and light snow possible at higher elevations.

Winds will ease by Tuesday morning, followed by slightly warmer daytime temperatures. A better chance for scattered showers returns Wednesday, particularly over the mountains and Palmer Divide.

Drivers should remain alert for sudden wind gusts on open roadways tonight, especially for high-profile vehicles. Additional updates are expected if shower coverage increases overnight.
