Colorado – Veterans Day weather in Colorado will be marked by chilly conditions, freezing fog, and below-normal temperatures across much of the region. Early morning fog is expected Monday, particularly in the San Luis Valley and Lower Arkansas River Valley areas, impacting visibility and road conditions. Residents are urged to drive cautiously in foggy conditions and prepare for potential icy patches on rural roads and highways.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the forecast predicts a high of 53°F in Pueblo and around 40°F in Alamosa on Monday, with freezing fog expected during early morning hours. Drivers along U.S. Route 160 in the San Luis Valley should remain vigilant, especially in low-lying areas where fog is likely to reduce visibility.
The rest of the week promises generally sunny skies, but temperatures will remain cooler than average. Pueblo will experience highs around 49°F to 57°F through Friday, while overnight lows are expected to dip near freezing, reaching as low as 22°F early in the week. Alamosa and other valley areas can expect highs in the mid-40s, with some nighttime temperatures dipping into the teens.
Tuesday and Thursday will bring slightly warmer days, with highs reaching up to 56°F in Pueblo, providing brief relief from the chill. However, cold nights and clear skies will persist, creating conditions for frost development, especially in valley regions. By Friday, the forecast suggests a modest warm-up, with highs potentially reaching near 57°F.
Residents should prepare for continued cool conditions and monitor local weather updates for fog advisories. Those with morning commutes are advised to allow extra travel time due to potential visibility issues in fog-prone areas.
