Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, bringing heavy snow and strong winds through Friday. Mountain regions and high-elevation areas are expected to see significant accumulations, leading to hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, Colorado’s Eastern Sawatch Mountains above 11,000 feet will experience snow accumulations between 4 and 12 inches, with wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. The advisory remains in effect from 3 a.m. Thursday until 11 p.m. Friday. Officials warn that travel may be difficult, and strong winds could cause tree damage.
In Utah, the NWS Salt Lake City office reports that the Wasatch Back region, including Park City, Heber City, and Huntsville, could receive between 2 and 10 inches of snow through noon Friday. Meanwhile, the Bear Lake and Bear River Valley areas expect up to 5 inches by early Friday morning. Drivers should anticipate slick roads and reduced visibility.
Southwest Wyoming, including Evanston and Lyman, is also under a winter weather advisory until noon Friday, with snowfall amounts ranging between 3 and 6 inches. Commuters should use caution as snowdrifts and icy conditions may impact travel.
