Grand Junction, CO – Residents across western Colorado and eastern Utah can expect fair weather Monday, with breezy winds and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will remain near normal for mid-September, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.

The calm conditions won’t extend everywhere, however. According to forecasters, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across the Uinta and Park Mountains, as well as along the Colorado-Wyoming border. While most communities will stay dry, northern areas could see brief downpours or lightning.

Looking ahead, showers and storms are expected to become more widespread Tuesday as a disturbance and a cool front push southward across the northern half of the region. The system could bring more unsettled weather into midweek, particularly for higher elevations and communities north of Interstate 70.

For now, forecasters advise residents to enjoy the fair skies but remain alert to changing conditions, especially in northern mountain zones. Those traveling or recreating outdoors in higher terrain should monitor updates and be prepared for quick shifts in weather.
